Privacy policy

Last updated: 3 August 2026

This is a courtesy translation. The German version at almanyaegitim.de/datenschutz is the legally binding one.
This website sets no cookies, embeds no analytics or tracking services and builds no user profiles. Fonts are served from our own server, not from Google. That is why you will not find a cookie banner here — there is nothing to consent to.

We have not appointed a data protection officer, as the legal conditions requiring one are not met.

2. Hosting and server log files

This website is hosted by Netlify, Inc., 512 2nd Street, Suite 200, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. When you access the site, data transmitted by your browser is automatically processed in server log files:

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the secure, stable and functional operation of the website. This data is not merged with other sources and is not analysed to identify individuals.

A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with Netlify. As Netlify is based in the USA, a transfer to a third country may occur. Such transfers are based on the standard contractual clauses adopted by the European Commission (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR) and, where applicable, on the adequacy decision regarding the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

3. Fonts

The fonts used on this website are served from our own server. No connection is made to third-party servers — in particular not to Google Fonts — and no IP address is transmitted to third parties.

4. Cookies, tracking and analytics

We do not set cookies and use neither analytics tools nor tracking pixels, advertising networks or social media plugins that transmit data. No access to information on your terminal equipment within the meaning of § 25 TDDDG takes place, apart from the technically necessary local cache described in section 7.

5. Contacting us by email, phone or WhatsApp

If you contact us by email, by phone or via WhatsApp, we process the data you provide — depending on the channel, this may include your name, email address, phone number and the content of your message — solely in order to handle your enquiry.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where the enquiry relates to entering into or performing a contract, and otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in responding to enquiries). We delete this data as soon as it is no longer required for that purpose and no statutory retention periods apply.

Our website contains links to WhatsApp. Data is only transmitted to the service once you click such a link and send the message. The provider is WhatsApp Ireland Limited, Merrion Road, Dublin 4, Ireland. We have no influence over the processing that takes place there; their privacy terms apply in addition. Using WhatsApp is voluntary — you can equally reach us by email or phone. Please do not send us health data or other particularly sensitive information via WhatsApp.

6. Self-assessment test

The self-assessment test on this website runs entirely in your browser. Your answers are not transmitted to our servers or to third parties and are not stored; they are lost as soon as you close the page.

At the end of the test you can optionally generate a WhatsApp message containing your answers. Transmission only takes place if you actively trigger this step and send the message.

7. Progressive web app and local cache

This website can be added to your home screen as an app. Your browser then creates a local cache (service worker cache) so that pages also load on a poor connection. Only files belonging to this website are stored there, no personal data. The cache resides solely on your device and can be cleared at any time via your browser settings.

8. Links to Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn

We link to our profiles on Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn. These are plain hyperlinks with no embedded content or plugins. Data is only transmitted to these providers once you click a link and open their page. Their respective privacy terms then apply.

9. Recipients and disclosure

Your data is only passed on where this is necessary to handle your enquiry, where you have consented, or where we are legally obliged to do so. In particular, we submit documents to universities, language schools, institutions or authorities exclusively on your express instruction. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

10. Your rights

You have the right at any time to obtain information about the data we process about you (Art. 15 GDPR), to rectification (Art. 16), to erasure (Art. 17), to restriction of processing (Art. 18), to data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21). You may withdraw any consent given at any time with effect for the future.

An informal message to info@almanyaegitim.de is sufficient to exercise these rights.

11. Right to lodge a complaint

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for us is the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information, Alt-Moabit 59–61, 10555 Berlin, Germany.

12. No automated decision-making

No automated decision-making, including profiling within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR, takes place. The result of the self-assessment test is non-binding orientation, not a decision about you.

13. Encryption

This website is delivered exclusively over an encrypted connection (TLS/HTTPS).

14. Changes to this policy

We update this privacy policy when our services or the legal situation change. The version published on this page applies.
